Is-sinjal għal AVUKAT għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal tal-ittra A bl-id titwaqqaf momentarjament bil-pala tħares ’il barra. (ii) L-id tinbidel għal forma ta’ C li tinżel ’l isfel bil-pala tħares ’il barra.

Ġieli jintuża s-sinjal għal QORTI għal dan is-sinjal. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 u titqiegħed livell mal-qadd bil-pala tħares ’l fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ ponn bil-pala tħares ’l isfel, qisha qed iżżomm martell. Imbagħad, tinżel f’sabta darba jew darbtejn kemm kemm ’l isfel mill-polz lejn l-id wieqfa. Dan ifakkar fil-maġistrat iħabbat bil-martell fl-awla tal-qorti. L-id wieqfa mhux dejjem tintuża bħala parti mis-sinjal.

The sign for LAWYER has two parts. (i) First the sign for A is made with the hand stopping momentarily with palm facing outwards. (ii) Then the handshape changes to that for C and moves downwards with palm facing outwards.

Sometimes the sign for COURT is made instead. One hand takes the shape of 5 with palm facing upwards at waist level. The other hand takes the shape of a fist with palm facing downwards, as though holding a mallet. The hand moves abruptly downwards once or twice from the wrist towards the stationary hand. This reminds one of the magistrate using his mallet in the courtroom. The stationary hand is not always included as part of the sign.
