Normalment dan is-sinjal huwa magħmul minn parti waħda. Id-dirgħajn jintefgħu ’l quddiem f’pożizzjoni orizzontali waqt li l-idejn jitgħawġu vertikali mill-polz biex il-pala tħares ’il ġewwa, jieħdu l forma ta’ 5 bis-swaba’ magħluqa u jiċċaqilqu b’qabża ’l fuq darbtejn jew iktar. Dan il-moviment jirrapreżenta l-mixja jew il-qabża tal-kangaru.

Is-sinjali ta’ KANGARU u ta’ TARBIJA ġieli jintużaw għal kangaru żgħir. Inkella jintuża s-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR jew is-sinjal għal KBIR, magħmul minn id waħda bil-forma ta’ 5 bil-pala ‘l isfel. Dan jiġi wara s-sinjal għal KANGARU. Id-distanza bejn l-art u l-id tindika d-daqs tal-kangaru.

GħaIl-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal ta’ KANGARU. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa u jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna kangarujiet.

Meta n-nom KANGARU jkun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, tintuża id waħda bil-forma ta’ V mgħawġa bħala classifier u fl-istess ħin l-id timxi skond l-azzjoni.

This sign is normally made up of one part. The arms are placed horizontally in front whilst the hands bend over vertically at the wrist with the palm facing inwards. The hands take the shape of closed 5 and jump jerkily up twice or more. This represents the kangaroo jump.

A small kangaroo is often referred to by the sign for KANGAROO followed by the sign for BABY. Otherwise, the sign for SMALL or the sign for LARGE is made with one hand in the shape of 5, palm down, after the sign for KANGAROO. The distance between the ground and the hand indicates the relative size of the kangaroo.

The sign for MANY is used after the sign for KANGAROO to express the plural. A classifier is often used. In this case one or both hands take the shape of curved V. They are placed at various points in the signing space as though several kangaroos were actually being put into that space.

When the noun KANGAROO is the subject of a verb of movement, one hand in the shape of curved V is used as a classifier and moves accordingly.
