Is-sinjal għal KITTIEB għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel, id waħda tieqaf bil-forma ta’ 5 magħluq bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ T u timxi f’linja żigużajg żgħira tul il-pala tal-id wieqfa qisha qed tikteb fuqha. (ii) Fit-tieni parti jsir is-sinjal għal KTIEB. Iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluqa u jitqiegħdu bil-ponot tas-swaba’ jħarsu ’l barra. Imbagħad l-idejn jinfetħu biex il-pala ta’ kull id tiġi tħares ’il fuq waqt li l-ġnub tal-idejn jibqgħu qrib ta’ xulxin u jergħu jingħalqu biex il-pala ta’ id tmiss mal-pala l-oħra. Din tiġri xi darbtejn.

The sign for WRITER consists of two parts. (i) First, one hand is held stationary in the shape of closed 5, palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of T with palm facing downwards and moves in a small zigzag line along the palm of the stationary hand as though writing on it. (ii) The second part is the sign for BOOK. Both hands take the shape of closed 5. They are placed with the fingertips pointing outwards. The hands then open up such that the palms face upwards whilst the sides of the hand remain close to each other and then close up again so that the palms touch each other. This is repeated at least once more.
