Is-sinjal għal MINA jsir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ ponn u titqiegħed quddiem fuq in-ngħas bil-pala tħares ’il barra. Imbagħad is-swaba’ jinfetħu u jistiraw waqt li l-id tersaq ftit ’il quddiem fl-istess livell. Dan ifakkar fid-dawl tal-lampa tal-minaturi.
The sign for MINE is made with one hand in the shape of a fist. The hand is placed, palm facing outwards, on the forehead. Then the fingers stretch outwards whilst the hand moves forward a little at the same level. This reminds one of the miner’s lamp.
