Is-sinjal għal NAĦLA għandu żewġ partijiet: (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal INSETT ITIR. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ F kkurvata bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il quddiem u bl-id mgħollija mal-ġenb tar-ras. L-id iddur f’ċirku żgħir fl-istess livell bħalma tagħmel in-naħla. (jew ii) Imbagħad l-idejn it-tnejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 mgħawweġ u jħarsu lejn xulxin orizzontalment waqt li jduru kontra xulxin.

Hemm varjant ta’ dan is-sinjal magħmul mill-ewwel parti tas-sinjal u mis-sinjal għal FJURA, jiġifieri, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ magħluqa bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id titla’ mill-għoli tal-għonq għall-għoli tal-imnieħer qisu wieħed qed ixomm il-fjura.

Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR isir b’id waħda forma ta’ Ċ magħluqa u bis-saba’ l-kbir qrib tal-werrej. Id-distanza bejn il-werrej u s-saba’ l-kbir jindika d-daqs tan-naħla (jew żgħira). Is-sinjal għal KBIR isir b’id waħda forma ta’ Ċ miftuħa skond id-daqs mixtieq, u jintuża biex jindika naħla kbira. Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR u s-sinjal għal KBIR jiġu wara s-sinjal għal NAĦLA.

Għall-plural, ġieli tintuża l-id forma ta’ 5 milwi u l-id iddur ma’ ġenb ir-ras. L-espressjoni tal-wiċċ tinbidel f’waħda li turi stmellija. Ġieli l-id forma ta’ F miftuħa titqiegħed f’punti differenti fiż-żona tas-sinjali, livell mal-għajnejn, qisu qed jitqiegħdu ħafna naħal hemmhekk. Inkella, s-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jista’ jintuża wara s-sinjal ta’ NAĦLA.

Meta n-nom NAĦLA jkun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ F jew il-forma ta’ X, tintuża bħala classifier u timxi skond l-azzjoni tal-verb.

The sign for BEE has two parts: (jew i) First the sign for FLYING INSECT is made. One hand forms a curved F shape with the palm facing outwards. The hand is raised to the side of the head and makes a small circular movement at the same level, like a bee. (jew ii) Both hands then take the shape of curved 5, with palms facing horizontally, and rotate in opposite directions.

A variant of this sign is made up of the first part of the sign for BEE and the sign for FLOWER, that is the hand is in the shape of closed Ċ with the palm facing the body. The hand moves up from neck level to nose level as though smelling a flower.

The sign for SMALL is made with one hand in the shape of closed Ċ with the thumb close to the index finger. The distance between the thumb and the index finger indicates the size of the bee. The sign for BIG, made with a C shaped hand, opening according to the desired size, is used to refer to a big bee. The signs for SMALL and BIG are used after the sign for BEE.

For the plural, the hand in the bent 5 shape rotates at the side of the head. The facial expression is that of disgust. Sometimes, the hand in the shape of open F is placed at various points in the signing space at eye level, as though many bees were being placed there. Otherwise, the sign for MANY is used after the sign for BEE.

When the noun BEE is the subject of a verb of movement, the hand in the shape of F or X, is used as a classifier and moves according to the action of the verb.
