Is-sinjal għal PITTUR għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal PINĠA. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 u tieqaf livell tal-ispalla bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ U bil-pala tħares ’l ġewwa. L-id tinżel żigużajg fil-ġenb minn livell għola mir-ras għal ftit ’l isfel mill-id il-wieqfa. Dan il-moviment ifakkar fit-tpinġija fuq kavallett (easel). (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal PERSUNA. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ magħluqa bil-pala tħares ’il barra. L-id tinżel dritt ’l isfel fil-ġenb.

The sign for ARTIST has two parts. (i) First the sign for PAINT (vb) is made. One hand takes the shape of 5 and lies at shoulder level with palm facing inwards. The other hand takes the shape of U with the palm facing inwards. The hand moves down in a zigzag line from a level above the head to a little below the stationary hand. This movement reminds one of painting on an easel. (ii) The second part is the sign for PERSON. One hand takes the shape of closed C with palm facing outwards. The hand moves straight down at the side.
