Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal QABLA. L-ewwel sinjal jixbaħ dak għal GĦIN. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 u titqiegħed bil-pala tħares ’l fuq u bis-swaba’ iħarsu laġenba livell mas-sider. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ M (differenti mill-forma A għal GĦIN) u titqiegħed fuq il-pala tal-ewwel id bil-ponot tas-swaba’ tal-M fuq il-pala tal-ewwel id. L-id ta’ taħt tgħolli ’l fuq it-tieni id u tressaqha ’l quddiem.
It-tieni sinjal magħmul minn żewġ partijiet. (i) Fl-ewwel parti jsir wieħed mis-sinjali għal INFERMIERA. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 1 u tagħmel il-forma ta’ salib (l-ewwel linja ’l isfel imbagħad min-naħa għall-oħra) bil-werrej għal fuq id-driegħ l-ieħor qrib l-ispalla. (ii) Fit-tieni parti jsir is-sinjal għal TARBIJA. Iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u jintrikbu fuq xulxin bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. Jitbandlu ftit lejn naħa imbagħad lejn in-naħa l-oħra qishom qed ibennu tarbija.
There are two different signs for MIDWIFE. The first sign resembles that for HELP. One hand takes the shape of 5 and is placed at chest level with palm facing upwards and fingers pointing to the side. The other hand takes the shape of M (different from the A shape used in HELP). This hand is placed over the palm of the first hand with the fingertips of the M touching the palm of the first hand. The first hand supports the A hand as it moves upward and forward.
The second sign consists of two parts. (i) First, one of the signs for NURSE is made. One hand takes the shape of 1. The index finger makes the shape of a cross (first a line downwards and then one across) on the top part of the arm near the shoulder. (ii) Then the sign for BABY is made. Both hands take the shape of closed 5 and, with palms facing upwards, overlap and swing first to one side then to the next as though rocking a baby.
