(jew ii) One hand takes the shape of V with palm facing downwards. The hand traces stripes on the width of the arm from the wrist to the upper arm.

The second sign has the same first part. Then one hand takes the shape of V with palm facing downwards and moves moves diagonally downwards from the opposite shoulder to just under the chest. This second part of both signs reminds one of the tiger’s stripes.

A variant uses one hand in the shape of curved 5, palm facing out. The hand does not move. The other hand, also in the shape of curved 5 moves from side to side of the chest area.

To refer to a small or large tiger, the signs for SMALL and BIG are made with one hand in the shape of 5 palm down after the sign for TIGER. The distance between the ground and the hand indicates the relative size of the tiger.

The sign for MANY is used after the sign for TIGER to express the plural. A classifier is often used. In this case one hand in the shape of curved V is placed at various points in the signing space as though several tigers were actually being put into that space.

When the noun TIGER is the subject of a verb of movement one hand in the shape of curved V or of curved 5 is used as the classifier, moving according to the action indicated by the verb.
