Is-sinjal għal VERTIKALI jsir biż-żewġ idejn. L-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ F, qisu qed iżommu xi spaga, id waħda ftit iktar ’il fuq mill-oħra. Id waħda tinżel dritt ’l isfel waqt li l-id l-oħra titla’ dritt ’il fuq.
Varjazzjoni ta’ dan is-sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq bil-pala tħares laġenba. L-idejn jitqiegħdu quddiem il-wiċċ bil-pala ta’ id tmiss parti mil-pala tal-id l-oħra. Id waħda tinżel dritt ’l isfel waqt li l-id l-oħra titla’ dritt ’il fuq.
The sign for VERTICAL is made with both hands. The hands take the shape of F, as though holding a piece of string, one hand a little above the other. One hand moves down and the other moves up.
A variation of the sign uses two hands which take the shape of closed 5 with the palms facing sideways. The hands are placed in front of the face with the palm of one hand touching part of the palm of the other hand. One hand moves straight down whilst the other moves straight up.
