One hand is placed at the side at waist level with the fingers touching the side of the waist or close to it with a fluttering brushing movement as though tickling. At the same time, the other hand is placed on the head and makes the same movement on the hair.

The second sign is made with the arms moving out sideways at the elbows and the hands forming a curved 5 with palms turned facing upwards making a brushing movement near the body above the waist.

To refer to a small or large monkey, the signs for SMALL or BIG are made with both hands in the shape of C after the sign for MONKEY. The distance between the two hands indicates the relative size of the monkey.
