Is-sinjal għal XGĦAJRA għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal XAGĦAR. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ F u taqbad ftit xagħar mill-ġenb tar-ras bis-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal MALTA b’id waħda bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id tieħu l-forma ta’ U imbaghad tagħmel forma ta’ salib biż-żewġt iswaba’ tal-U fuq in-naħa l-oħra tas-sider. Dan ifakkar fis-salib ta’ Malta.
The sign for XGĦAJRA has two parts. (i) First the sign for HAIR is made. The index fingers of both hand form an X whilst the palms face downwards. Then one hand takes the shape of F and with the thumb and index finger hold some hair from the side of the head. (ii) Then the sign for MALTA is made with one hand with the palm facing. The hand takes the shape of U and the two fingers of the U shape make a cross sign on the upper chest of the other side. This reminds one of the Maltese Cross.
