Hemm tlett sinjali għal ĠURAMENT. L-ewwel sinjal magħmul minn żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u titqiegħed ’il quddiem bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ A bis-saba’ l-kbir maħruġ ’il barra. Is-saba’ l-kbir jagħmel il-forma ta’ salib żgħir fuq il-pala tal-ewwel id. (ii) Imbagħad, l-ewwel id titla’ ’l fuq sakemm tmiss max-xufftejn. It-tieni sinjal ukoll magħmul minn żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u titqiegħed bil-pala tħares ’il fuq fuq quddiem waqt li l-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u titqiegħed bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa fuq ix-xofftejn. Imbagħad tinżel sakemm tolqot il-pala tal-id il-wieqfa ħafif. (ii) Imbagħad l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ A u bis-saba’ l-kbir tagħmel forma ta’ salib żgħir fuq il-pala tal-id il-wieqfa. It-tielet sinjal magħmul minn żewġ partijiet ukoll. (i) L-ewwel parti hi l-istess bħal-ewwel parti tal-ewwel sinjal. (ii) Imbagħad l-id tinbidel fil-forma ta’ 5 magħluqa u bil-pala tolqot il-pala tal-id il-wieqfa. Ara ukoll WEGĦDA.
There are three signs for OATH. The first sign consists of two parts. (i) The first part is made with one hand in the shape of closed 5 placed at the front with the palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of A with the thum jutting outwards. The thumb makes the sign of a small cross on the palm of the first hand. (ii) Then, the first hand moves up until it touches the lips. The second sign also has two parts. (i) The first part is made with one hand in the shape of closed 5 placed at the front with the palm facing upwards whilst the other hand takes the shape of closed 5 and is placed on the lips palm facing inwards. Then it moves down until it hits the palm of the stationary hand lightly. (ii) Then the hand takes the shape of A and makes the sign of a small cross with the thumb on the palm of the stationary hand. The third sign also consists of two parts. (i) The first part is the same as the first part of the first sign. (ii) Then the hand changes to a closed 5 shape and, with the palm, hits the palm of the stationary hand. See also PROMISE.
