Is-sinjal għal AMBULANZA għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) Fl-ewwel parti jsir is-sinjal għal KAROZZA, jiġifieri l-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ A bil-pala ta’ id tħares lejn il-pala tal-id l-oħra. L-idejn jiċċaqilqu ftit ’il fuq u ’l isfel, id waħda tiela’ meta l-oħra tinżel, bħallikieku qed isuqu. (ii) Fit-tieni parti, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 mgħawwġa u titqiegħed maġenb ir-ras. L-id iddur mill-polz xi darbtejn u l-pala tiġi tħares daqqa ’il fuq u daqqa laġenba. Dan il-moviment ifakkar fil-fanal li jitqiegħed fuq is-saqaf tal-ambulanza biex jixgħel u jitfi meta l-ambulanza tkun qed issuq xi pazjent f’emerġenza.

The sign for AMBULANCE consists of two parts. (i) The first part is the same as the sign for CAR, that is, the hands take the shape of A with palms facing and move alternately a little upwards and downwards as in driving. (ii) In the second part, one hand takes the shape of clawed 5. The hand rotates from the wrist twice or more as it is held near the head. As the hand rotates, the palm sometimes faces upwards and sometimes sideways. This movement reminds one of the flashing light on the roof of the ambulance when a patient is being transported in an emergency.
