Is-sinjal għal AREA għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel l-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 1 bil-pala tħares ’l isfel u jimxi f’linja dritta l-ewwel ’il quddiem min-nofs għall-ġnub imbagħad lura u fl-aħħar lura lejn in-nofs u b’hekk ikunu immarkaw l-erbat iġnub ta’ kwadru. (ii) Għat-tieni part isir is-sinjal għal ART. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-id timxi fil-livell tal-qadd minn naħa għall-oħra waqt illi ddur.
The sign for AREA consists of two parts. (i) First, the hand take the shape of 1 with palms facing downwards. They move along a straight line at the front, from the middle to the sides and then backwards and lastly back to the middle. This allows them to mark the four sides of a square. (ii) Then the sign for GROUND is made with one hand in the shape of 5 with palm facing downwards. The hand moves at waist level from one side to the other. As it does this it moves round so that the fingers point to the side.
