Is-sinjal BANKINA isir biż-żewġ idejn. Id waħda titqiegħed quddiem bil-pala tħares laġenba. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ U mgħawġa bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. Iż-żewġt iswaba’ jiżżerżqu, wieħed wara l-ieħor, bi skossi żgħar ’il quddiem bil-mod mat-tul tal-pala tal-ewwel id waqt li tmissha ħafif bil-ġenb tal-werrej.

The sign for PAVEMENT is made with both hands. One hand is placed in front with palm facing sideways. The other hand takes the shape of curved U with palm facing downwards. The two fingers slide, one after the other, with small jerks along the palm of the first hand slowly, touching it lightly with the side of the index finger.

BAR (stil Ingliż)

Is-sinjal għal BAR magħmul minn żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal KAMRA biż-żewġ idejn forma ta’ 1 bil-pala tal-id tħares ’il barra. Il-werrej ta’ id imiss mal-werrej tal-id l-oħra livell mal-wiċċ. L-idejn jitbiegħdu laġenba u ’l isfel u jiffurmaw linja b’angolu rett. (ii) It-tieni parti ssir biż-żewġ idejn. Id waħda titqiegħed ’il quddiem fil-forma ta’ Ċ miftuħa u bil-pala tħares laġenba qisha qed iżżomm tazza. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ A bil-pala tħares laġenba u timxi ftit ’il fuq, ’il ġewwa imbagħad ’l isfel. Dan il-moviment ifakkar fil-mod kif tisserva l-birra “draught”.

L-ewwel parti tas-sinjal l-istess bħall-ewwel parti ta’ KAMRA. Jista’ jiqies bħala l-morfema komuni għal sinjali differenti li jinkludu referenza għall-stabbiliment, Nistgħu nirreferu għalih bħala sinjal għal STABBILIMENT.

BAR (English style) or PUB

The sign for BAR is made up of two parts. (i) The first part is the sign for ROOM made with two hands in the shape of 1 with palms facing outwards. The index fingers touch and then move away to the side and then downwards to form right angles. (ii) The second part is made with both hands as well. One hand takes the shape of open C with palm facing sideways. The hand is held in front as though holding a glass. The other hand takes the shape of A with palm facing sideways. The hand pulls up, in and then down. This movement reminds one of the way draught beer is served.

The first part of the sign is the same as the first part of the sign for ROOM. It can be considered as the morpheme common to signs that include a reference to some kind of establishment. It can be referred to as the sign for ESTABLISHMENT.
