Hemm żewġ sinjali għal BULDOKK. L-ewwel għandu żewġ partijiet. (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal KELB, jiġifieri l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ U wieqfa ma’ ġenb in-ngħas, bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il barra. Iż-żewġt iswaba’ jinżlu dritti ‘l isfel mingħajr ma timxi l-id. (jew ii) Imbagħad, l-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 imgħawweġ mal-ġenb tal-wiċċ, bl-idejn iħarsu lejn xulxin. L-idejn iduru u jinżlu ftit u jersqu ’l barra lejn il-ġnub waqt li l-polzijiet jersqu lejn xulxin huma u niżlin.
It-tieni sinjal għandu parti oħra, s-sinjal għal GĦAŻŻIEN. Dan isir bi driegħ wieħed wieqaf bl-id forma ta’ polz magħluq u l-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ B bis-seba’ l-kbir miftuħ. Din l-id tagħti daqqtejn ħafifa taħt il-minkeb ta’ l-ewwel id.
Is-sinjal għal BULDOKK ĠERU jsir mis-sinjal għal BULDOKK u s-sinjal għal TARBIJA jew għal ŻGĦIR. Is-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR huma magħmulin mill-idejn forma ta’ 5 u jħarsu lejn xulxin f’linja vertikali jew djagonali. Id-distanza bejn l-idejn tindika d-daqs tal-buldokk.
Fil-plural, is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jintuża wara is-sinjal għal BULDOKK. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa waqt li jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna klieb.
Meta n-nom BULDOKK ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, tintuża id waħda bil-forma ta’ V mgħawġa bħala classifier u l-id timxi skond l-azzjoni.
There are two signs for BULLDOG. The first sign is made up of two parts: (jew i) First, the sign for DOG is made, that is, with the hand in the shape of upright U at the side of the forehead, palm facing outwards. The two fingers are bent straight over without any hand movement. (jew ii) Next, both hands are in the curved 5 shape at the side of the face with palms facing each other. The hands turn over and move to the side and a little downwards whilst the wrists move towards each other.
The second sign has a third part, the sign for LAZY. One arm is held upright with a closed fist shape. The hand takes the shape of closed B with the thumb stretched out. This hand hits the elbow lightly twice or more.
The sign for a BULLDOG PUPPY is the sign for BULLDOG followed by the sign for BABY or for SMALL. The signs for SMALL and BIG are made with two hands in the shape of 5 with palms facing each other in a vertical or diagonal direction. The distance between the hands indicates the relative size of the bulldog.
The plural is formed by adding the sign for MANY after the sign for BULLDOG. A classifier is often used. In this case one or both hands take the shape of curved V. They are placed at various points in the signing space as though several dogs were actually being put into that space.
When the noun BULLDOG is used as the subject of a verb of movement, one hand in the shape of curved V is used as a classifier and moves accordingly.
