The sign for EVANGELIST consists of three parts. (i) The first part is the sign for MAN. One hand takes the shape of Ċ with palm facing downwards. The hand is placed in front of the forehead. The C shape closes as the hand moves forward. (ii) The second part is the sign for WRITE. One hand is placed forward in the shape of closed 5 with the palm facing upwards. The other hand forms a fist with the thumb touching the index finger as though holding a pencil. The hand moves up and down in a little vertical zigzag shape on the stationary hand as though writing on it. (iii) For the third part the thumb of one hand makes the sign of a little cross over the palm of the other hand.
