Hemm żewġ sinjali għal GURILLA. L-ewwel sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ ponn bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-ewwel ponn imbagħad l-ieħor iħabbat fuq is-sider.

Għal GURILLA żgħira jew kbira, is-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR, isiru miż-żewġ idejn forma ta’ Ċ. L-idejn iħarsu lejn xulxin f’linja orizzontali. Id-distanza bejn l-idejn tindika d-daqs tal-gurilla. Is-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR jiġu wara s-sinjal għal GURILLA.

GħaIl-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal GURILLA. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa jew il-forma ta’ 5 mgħawweġ. L-idejn jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna gurilli.

There are two signs for GORILLA. The first sign is made with both hands in the shape of a fist with palms facing inwards. The fists strike the upper chest alternatively twice or more.

The second sign is made up of one or two parts: (jew i) In the first part, the arms move out sideways and the hands form a curved 5 with palms turned facing upwards making a rubbing movement near the body beneath the arm pit. This part resembles the sign for MONKEY. (jew ii) The second part is the same as the first sign.

To refer to a small or large gorilla, the signs for SMALL and BIG are made with both hands in the shape of C with hands facing each other in a horizontal direction. The distance between the two hands indicates the relative size of the gorilla. The signs for SMALL and BIG are made after the sign for GORILLA.

The sign for MANY is used after the sign for GORILLA to express the plural. A classifier is often used. In this case, one or both hands take the form of curved V or curved 5. The hands are placed in several places in the signing space as though several gorillas were being placed there.

When the noun GORILLA is the subject of a verb of movement, one or both hands take the curved V or curved 5 shape. They are used as the classifier, moving according to the action.
