Is-sinjal għal GŻIRA isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ Ġ u imbagħad tikteb il-forma ta’ l-ittra Z kbira ’l isfel, fuq quddiem, waqt li żżomm il-forma tal-Ġ.

Hemm varjant ieħor tas-sinjal għal GZIRA. Dan isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u ikkurvat u timxi lejn il-ġenb u lura f’forma żigużajg. Dan is-sinjal ma jintużax f’kuntest formali minħabba li kkunsidrat sinjal vulgari.

The sign for GZIRA is made with one hand which takes the shape of Ġ and then writes the shape of a large letter Z downwards, in front, whilst keeping the handshape for Ġ.

The other sign for GZIRA is made with one hand in the shape of closed, curved 5. The hand moves to the side in a zigzag line. The sign is not used formally as it is considered to be a vulgar sign.

GĦADIRA (L-)

Hemm żewġ sinjali għal GĦADIRA. L-ewwel sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn. Id waħda tieqaf mimduda dritta bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ L u timxi minn fuq l-id sal-minkeb tal-ewwel id waqt li tmissha ħafif.

It-tieni sinjal isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ L livell mar-ras. L-id iddur malajr mill-polz biex il-pala tibda billi tħares ’il barra imbagħad tiġi tħares ’il ġewwa.

Varjant ta’ dan is-sinjal huwa s-sinjal għal RAMEL jew MELĦ. Id waħda tieħu l-forma li tixbaħ is-sinjal għal N. Il-ponot tas-swaba’ jogħrku s-saba’ l-kbir bħal meta wieħed iroxx il-melħ.

Ta’ min jinnota li l-forma għal L u mhux għal GĦ jintuża fl-ewwel żewġ sinjali.

GĦADIRA (BAY)

There are two signs for GĦADIRA. The first sign is made with both hands. One hand is held lying stationary with palm facing downwards. The other hand takes the shape of L and moves over the first hand from the hand to the elbow, brushing against it lightly.

The second sign is made with one hand in the shape of L at head level. The hand rotates quickly from the wrist so that the palm first faces outwards and then faces inwards.

A variant of this sign is the same as the sign for SAND or SALT. One hand takes the shape resembling that for N. The finger tips rub against each other and the thumb as when one is adding a pinch of salt to food.

It is worth noting that the shape for L not for GĦ is used in the first two signs.
