Is-sinjal għal IL-ĦAMES għandu żewġ partijiet li jingħaqdu b’moviment wieħed. L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal ĦAMSA b’id waħda. Il-ħamest iswaba’ jieqfu dritti, mbegħdin minn xulxin u bil-ponot tas-swaba’ iħarsu ’l fuq u l-pala tħares ’il barra. Imbagħad, l-id iddur biex il-pala tiġi tħares ’il ġewwa. Din l-aħħar parti tibdel in-numru kardinali għal numru ordinali.

The sign for FIFTH is made up of two continuous parts. First, the sign for FIVE is made with one hand. The five fingers are placed upright and apart from each other, with fingertips pointing upwards and with the palm facing outwards. Then the hand turns so the palm faces inwards. This last part turns cardinal numbers into ordinals.
