Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal ISLANDA. L-ewwel sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel parti hija s-sinjal għall-ittra I, l-ewwel ittra ta’ l-isem tal-post. (ii) Fit-tieni parti ż-żewġ idejn jitqiegħdu ftit lejn ġenb wieħed fil-livell tas-sider. Il-ponot tas-swaba’ jiltaqgħu, kemm kemm jmissu u l-pala ta’ kull id tħares ’l isfel. L-idejn jitbiegħdu waqt li jinżlu f’tundjatura ’l isfel, moviment li tfakkar fil-forma ta’ iglù.
It-tieni sinjal ukoll għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ F imma bis-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jiffurmaw nofs ċirku żgħir bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. L-id tieħu skoss żgħir ’l isfel. (ii) Imbagħad l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ A bis-saba’ l-kbir maħruġ ’il barra. Is-saba’ l-kbir jinżel mal-geddum darbtejn.
There are two different signs for ICELAND. The first sign is made up of two parts. (i) The first part is the sign for the letter I, the first letter of the placename. (ii) In the second part the hands are placed, with fingertips just touching and palms facing downwards, a little to one side at chest level. The hands move away from each other downwards in a curved line that reminds one of the shape of an igloo.
The second sign is also made up of two parts. (i) First, the hand takes the shape of F but with the thumb and index finger forming a small circle with the palm facing inwards. The hand moves down a little jerkily. (ii) Then the hand takes the shape of A with protruding thumb. The thumb moves down twice along the chin.
