Is-sinjal għal ITTRA għandu żewġ partijiet li jistgħu ukoll jitqiesu bħala parti waħda. (i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għall-ittra L ma ġenb il-wiċċ bil-pala tħares ’il barra. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal KITEB biż-żewġ idejn. Id waħda tieqaf forma ta’ 5 magħluqa bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu waqt li tinżel fuq l-id il-wieqfa waqt li tinbidel fil-forma ta’ T bil-pala tħares ’isfel u bis-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jiffurmaw ċirku. L-id timxi żigużajg fuq jew kemm kemm ’il fuq mill-pala tal-id il-wieqfa u tibqa’ nieżla ’l isfel minnha.

The sign for LETTER has two parts that merge and can be considered one part. (i) First, the sign for the letter L is made at the side of the face with the palm facing outwards. (ii) Then the sign for WRITE is made with both hands. One hand is held stationary in the shape of closed 5 with the palm facing upwards. The other hand moves down as it takes the shape of T with palm facing downwards and with the thumb and index finger forming a circle. This hand zigzags on or just above the palm of the stationary hand and moves down well beyond it.
