Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal KASTUR. L-ewwel sinjal (jew i) jibda b’id waħda forma ta’ U li tersaq fuq is-snien. (jew ii) Il-kumplament tas-sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn forma ta’ U. Ġeneralment, il-ħalq jinżamm miftuħ u x-xufftejn ftit stirati biex jidhru s-snien. Is-swaba’ li jiffurmaw l-U imissu x-xufftejn min-naħa tal-pala. Imbagħad, l-idejn jintlwew mill-polz darbtejn jew iktar waqt li s-swaba’ jibqgħu fl-istess forma.
It-tieni sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet ukoll. (jew i) L-ewwel parti isir biż-żewġ idejn quddiem il-ħalq bil-forma milwija permezz tas-saba’ l-kbir imiss is-swaba’ l-oħra u bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. (jew ii) Imbagħad id waħda tieqaf dritta bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa bl-id forma ta’ ponn. L-id l-oħra timxi ’l fuq u ’l isfel timsaħ id-driegħ wieqaf.
Is-sinjal għal KASTUR ŻGĦIR isir mis-sinjal għal KASTUR u s-sinjal għal TARBIJA jew għal ŻGĦIR. Is-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR isiru bl-idejn forma ta’ 5 iħarsu lejn xulxin f’linja vertikali jew djagonali. Id-distanza bejn l-idejn tindika d-daqs tal-kastur.
Is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal KASTUR meta r-referenza tkun għall-plural. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa u jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna kasturi.
Meta n-nom KASTUR ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, tintuża id waħda bil-forma ta’ V mgħawġa bħala classifier u fl-istess ħin l-id timxi skond l-azzjoni.
There are two signs for BEAVER. The first sign (jew ii) starts with one hand in U shape that moves over the teeth. (jew ii) The rest of the sign is made with both hands in the U shape. Generally, the mouth is kept open and the lips are slightly stretched to show the teeth. The fingers forming the U shape touch the lips on the palm side and the hands twist at the wrist twice or more whilst the fingers keep the same shape.
The second sign has two parts. (jew i)The first part is made with both hands bent with the thumbs touching the other fingers and palms facing downwards. The hands are placed in front of the mouth. (jew ii) Then, one hand is held upright and stationary with the palm facing inwards and the hand in the shape of a fist. The other hand moves up and down stroking the stationary arm.
The sign for a baby beaver is the sign for BEAVER followed by the sign for BABY. Alternatively, the signs for SMALL and BIG are made with two hands in the shape of 5 with palms facing each other in a vertical or diagonal direction. The distance between the hands indicates the relative size of the beaver. The sign for BEAVER precedes the signs for SMALL or BIG.
The sign for MANY can be used after the sign for BEAVER to signal plurality. A classifier is often used instead. One or both hands take the shape of curved V and are placed at various points in the signing space as though several beavers were actually being put into that space. Classifiers are use with verbs of movement and move accordingly.
