Is-sinjal għal L-EWWEL għandu żewġ partijiet li jingħaqdu b’moviment wieħed. L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal WIEĦED bil-pala ta’ id waħda tħares ’il barra u bil-werrej wieqaf bil-ponta tħares ’il fuq. Imbagħad, l-id iddur biex il-pala tiġi tħares ’il ġewwa. Din l-aħħar parti, fejn l-id iddur biex il-pala tiġi tħares’il ġewwa tibdel in-numru kardinali għal numru ordinali.
The sign for FIRST is made up of two continuous parts. First, the sign for ONE is made with one hand with the palm facing outwards. The index finger is placed upright with fingertip pointing upwards. Then the hand turns so the palm faces inwards. This last part, where the hand moves so that the palm faces inwards, turns cardinal numbers into ordinals.
