Is-sinjal għal LIBRAR isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ L. Jibdew bil-pala ta’ id tħares lejn l-oħra u bil-ponta tal-werrej iħares ’l fuq. Imbagħad l-idejn jitbandlu mill-polz lejn il-ġnub biex il-pala tiġi tħares ’il ġewwa imbagħad terġa ddur xi darbtejn jew iktar.
Varjant iktar antik ta’ dan is-sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. L-ewwel parti tixbaħ is-sinjal għal ĦA ĦSIEB. Id waħda titqiegħed fil-forma ta’ 5 magħluq u bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ 1 bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb u timxi minn taħt l-għajn ’l isfel waqt li joħorġu s-swaba’ l-oħra. L-id tasal fuq il-pala tal-id wieqfa fil-forma ta’ 5 magħluq. It-tieni parti tixbaħ is-sinjal għal LIBRERIJA. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ C magħluqa bis-swaba’ jmissu s-saba’ l-kbir qishom qed iżommu xi ktieb mill-ispina. L-id titla’ ’l fuq f’xi żewġ punti differenti qisha qed tqiegħed xi kotba fuq l-ixkaffa.
The sign for LIBRARIAN is made with both hands that take the shape of L. The hands start off with the palms facing each other and the fingertip of the index finger pointing upwards. Then the hands swing sideways at the wrists towards the sides so that the palms face inwards and then they swing back twice or more.
An older variant of the sign consists of two parts. The first part resembles that for LOOK AFTER. One hand takes the shape of closed 5 with palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of 1 with the palm facing sideways. This hand moves down from under the eye whilst the other fingers open out. The hand reaches the palm of the stationary hand in the form of closed 5. The second part resembles the sign for LIBRARY. It is made with one hand in the shape of closed C with the fingers touching the thumb as though holding a book from the spine. The hand moves up to two or more places as though placing books on the shelf.

The sign for LSA is made with both hands. One hand is held stationary in the shape of closed 5 with palm facing upwards whilst the other hand takes the shape of closed C, with palm facing downwards. The C fingers slide over the palm of the stationary hand twice or more.
