Hemm żewġ sinjali għal LUPU. L-ewwel sinjal isir b’id waħda forma ta’ 5 milwi li titla’ quddiem il-ħalq imbagħad tibda tingħalaq waqt li timxi ’l quddiem.
It-tieni sinjal għandu tlett partijiet: (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal KELB, jiġifieri, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ U ma’ ġenb in-ngħas, bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il barra. Iż-żewġt iswaba’ jinżlu dritti ’l isfel mingħajr ma timxi l-id. (jew ii) Fit-tieni parti jsir l-ewwel sinjal għal LUPU. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwi li titla’ quddiem il-ħalq imbagħad tibda tingħalaq waqt li timxi ’l quddiem. (jew iii) Fit-tielet parti jsir is-sinjal għal LEJL. Id-dirgħajn jistiraw mill-minkeb mill-ġenb ’il barra u l-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq. Imbagħad jersqu ‘l ġewwa sakemm l-id il-leminija tasal fuq ix-xellug u l-id ix-xellugija tasal fuq il-lemin.
Is-sinjal għal TARBIJA jew is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jintuża mas-sinjal ta’ LUPU biex jirreferi għall-ġeru. Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jew is-sinjal għal KBIR, isir minn id waħda bil-forma ta’ 5 bil-pala ‘l isfel. Id-distanza bejn l-art u l-id tindika d-daqs tal-lupu. Dawn is-sinjali jiġu wara s-sinjal għal LUPU.
Fil-plural, is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal LUPU. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ tintuża id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn fil-forma ta’ V mgħawġa u jitpoġġew f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna lupi.
Meta n-nom LUPU jkun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, tintuża id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn fil-forma ta’ V mgħawġa jew ta’ 5 mgħawweġ bħala classifier u l-idejn jimxu skond l-azzjoni.
There are two different signs for WOLF. The first sign is made with one hand in the shape of bent 5 placed in front of the mouth. The hand moves backwards and closes up.
The second sign is made up of three parts: (jew i) First, the sign for DOG is made, that is, with the hand in the shape of U at the side of the forehead with the palm facing outwards. The two fingers are bent straight over without any palm movement. (jew ii) The second part is the first sign for WOLF. One hand takes the shape of a bent 5 covering the mouth and moves back as the fingers close. (jew iii) The third part is the sign for NIGHT. The arms stretch out from the elbows beyond the sides with the hands in the shape of 5. They then cross over such that the right hand is on the left and the left on the right.
The sign for BABY or SMALL is used after the sign for WOLF to refer to the pup. The sign for SMALL or the sign for BIG are made with one hand in the shape of 5, palm down. The distance between the ground and the hand indicates the relative size of the wolf. These signs are used after the sign for WOLF.
The plural is formed by adding the sign for MANY after the sign for WOLF. A classifier is often used - one or two hands take the curved V shape and are placed at various points in the signing space as though several wolves were actually being put into that space. When the noun WOLF is used as the subject of a verb of movement, one or both hands in the shape of curved V or curved 5 are used as classifiers and move accordingly.
