Is-sinjal għal LURA jsir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluq bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. Id waħda titqiegħed estiża ’il quddiem ħafna. L-id l-oħra tibda miexja minn fuq l-ewwed id u timxi lura kemm tista’.
Is-sinjal jinbidel skond l-entità li tkun miexja lura. Jista’ jintuża classifier ukoll. Wara li jsir is-sinjal li jidentifika x’ikun sejjer lura, id waħda tintefa’ l-quddiem bil-pala tħares ’l isfel u l-id l-oħra timxi lura ftit ’il fuq minnha. Jekk persuna tkun involuta, allura il-forma tal-id tkun dik ta’ U jew V imgħawġa. Jekk tkun karrozza jew rota, per eżempju, allura jista’ l-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal karrozza jew għal rota, imbagħad l-idejn jimxu lura waqt li jżommu dik il-forma. The sign for BACKWARDS is made with two hands in the shape of closed 5 with the palm facing downwards. One hand is extended far forward. The other hand moves back from above the first hand to as far back as possible.
However, the sign changes depending on the entity that is moving backwards. A classifier may also be used. After the sign for the entity has been made, one hand is placed straight out with palm facing downwards and the other hand moves backwards a little above the first hand. If a person is moving back, then the handshape is that of clawed U or V. If a car or bicycle is involved, then the sign for car or for bicycle is made first and then the hands move backwards keeping the same shape whilst the body is also bent backwards. The stationary hand is the classifier for the road whilst the moving hand is the classifier for the car or truck etc.
