Is-sinjal għal PUBLIKAN magħmul minn tliet partijiet. (i) Fl-ewwel parti jsir is-sinjal għal RAĠEL b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ bil-pala tħares ’l isfel u titqiegħed quddiem il-ġbin. Il-forma taċ-Ċ tingħalaq waqt li l-id tersaq ’il quddiem. (ii) Fit-tieni parti jsir is-sinjal għal XOGĦOL biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ ponn bil-pala ta’ kull id tħares laġenba u ponn wieħed jitqiegħed fuq l-ieħor. (iii) Fit-tielet parti id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 mgħawweġ u bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-id tidħol ftit lura u terġa toħroġ ’il barra xi drabi waqt li s-swaba’ jingħalqu ftit u jerġgħu jinfetħu qishom qed taħtaf xi ħaġa.
The sign for PUBLICAN consists of three parts. (i) The first part is the sign for MAN. One hand takes the shape of Ċ with palm facing downwards. The hand is placed in front of the forehead. The C shape closes as the hand moves forward. (ii) The second part is the sign for WORK. This is made with both hands in the shape of a fist with the palms facing sideways. One fist is placed over the other. (iii) The third part is made with one hand that takes the shape of clawed 5 with palm facing downwards. The hand draws back and moves forward again a few times whilst the fingers close and open as though snatching something.
