The second sign resembles the first. It is made with one hand in the shape of 5 with fingers apart. The hand makes one jerky movement backwards as though pulling something.

The sign for SMALL or LARGE is made with the hands in the shape of Ċ with the closed palm of one hand facing the other. The distance between the hands is used to indicate the size of the octopus. The sign is used after the sign for OCTOPUS.

To express the plural, the hand in the Ċ shape is placed at different points in the signing space as though several octopuses were being placed there. The sign for MANY may be used after the sign for OCTOPUS instead.
