Is-sinjal għal RUMA jsir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ U bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il ġewwa. Id waħda titqiegħed ftit ’il fuq mill-oħra u imbagħad is-swaba’ jinżlu sakemm jolqtu s-swaba’ ta’ l-id l-oħra darbtejn.

Varjazzjoni ta’ dan is-sinjal użat mill-kbar isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ B miftuħa u bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb. L-id timxi minn quddiem ir-ras san-naħa ta’ wara tar-ras.

The sign for ROME is made with both hands in the shape of U with palms facing inwards. One hand is placed above the other and then the fingers of the first hand move down until they hit the fingers of the other hand twice.

A variation of this sign used by the older Deaf is made with one hand that takes the shape of open B and with palm facing sideways. The hand moves from the front of the head to the back.
