Is-sinjal għal SENA jixbaħ dak għal SNIEN. Dan isir billi l-werrej ta’ id waħda jmiss is-snien u imbagħad jersaq ’il quddiem. Tul is-sinjal, ix-xufftejn jisseparaw mingħajr ma jinfetaħ il-ħalq. Dan għaliex il-ħoss tal-kliem ‘snin’ u ‘snien’ jixxiebħu.
The sign for YEAR(S) resembles that for TEETH. It is made with the index finger of one hand touching the teeth and then moving forward. The lips widen without opening the mouth throughout the sign. In Maltese the pronunciation of the plural form ‘teeth’ resembles that for the plural form ‘years’.
