Hemm żewġ sinjali prinċipali għal WEGĦDA. L-ewwel sinjal isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ I bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. Is-saba’ tal-forma I jitqiegħed fuq ix-xufftejn li normalment jittundjaw ftit bħallikieku se jbusu s-saba’, imbagħad l-id tersaq ’il barra laġenba. It-tieni sinjal isir biż-żewġ idejn fl-istess forma ta’ I bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa fil-għoli. L-idejn jersqu lejn xulxin fin-nofs sakemm is-swaba’ ż-żgħar jolqtu lil xulxin. Ara ukoll ĠURAMENT.
There are two main signs for PROMISE. The first sign is made with one hand in the shape of I with the palm facing inwards. The I finger is placed over the lips which are usually rounded as though to kiss the finger. Then the hand moves outwards sideways. The second sign is made with both hands in the same shape of I with the palms facing inwards quite high up. The hands move towards each other until the pinkies hit each other. See also OATH.
