Is-sinjal għal ĠIBS għandu tlett partijiet. (i) L-ewwel issir il-forma ta’ kwadru vertikali bil-werrejja tal-idejn li jiltaqgħu fin-nofs livell tar-ras, jersqu lejn il-ġnub, jinżlu ’l isfel u jerġgħu lura għan-nofs fejn jiltaqgħu. (ii) Imbagħad id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ T bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb u s-saba’ l-kbir jimxi jmiss il-ġenb tal-geddum. (iii) Is-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jiffurmaw ċirku żgħir waqt li l-id iddur u toħroġ ftit biex il-pala tiġi tħares ’il barra waqt li s-swaba’ taċ-ċirku jimxu lejn il-ġenb.

The sign for CHALK has three parts. (i) First the shape of a vertical square is made with the index fingers that meet in the middle at head level, move to the sides, move downwards and then again move back to the middle where they meet. (ii) Then one hand takes the shape of T with the palm facing the side and the thumb touches the side of the chin as it moves along it. (iii) The thumb and index finger form a circle whilst the hand turns and comes forward a little so that the palm faces outwards whilst the fingers forming the circle move towards the side.
