Hemm żewġ sinjali differenti għal ĠURAD. L-ewwel sinjal isir b’id waħda bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-ewwel tlett iswaba jikkurvaw ’isfel u jaqbżu bi skossi ’l fuq u ‘l isfel, ’l barra.
It-tieni sinjal għandu żewġ partijiet. (jew i) L-ewwel, id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 dritta u magħluqa u timtedd bil-pala tħares ’l isfel. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ U. Is-swaba tal-U jaqbżu bi skossi għal fuq il-wiċċ tal-id u fuq l-ewwel parti tad-driegħ tal-id wieqfa. (jew ii) Imbagħad l-idejn it-tnejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ U, bil-pala tħares parzjalment ’l isfel u bil-ġnub tas-swaba’ tal-U jħokku ma xulxin waqt li jiffurmaw X imżerżqa .
Is-sinjal għal ġurat żgħir jew kbir isir bis-sinjal għal ĠURAD u s-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jew għal KBIR li jsir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’1 jew ta’ Ċ magħluqa, u d-distanza bejn l-idejn tikkorispondi għad-daqs tal-ġurat.

Is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal ĠURAD. Ġieli jintuża classifier, jiġifieri, id waħda jew iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ X u jitpoġġew f’punti differenti fiż-żona tas-sinjali, qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna ġurati.
Meta n-nom ĠURAD ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ X, tintuża bħala classifier u timxi skond il-moviment tal-verb.
There are two different signs for GRASSHOPPER. The first sign is made with one hand that takes the shape of open, curved 3 with the palm facing upwards. The hand jumps jerkily up and down outwards at the fron.
The second sign has two parts. (jew i) First, one hand takes the shape of straight closed 5, and lies horizontally with palm facing downwards. The other hand takes the shape of U and the U fingers jump jerkily on the top of the stationary hand and the first part of the arm. (jew ii) Then, both hands take the shape of U, with palms facing partly downwards. The sides of the fingers rub against each other forming a sliding X shape.
The sign for a small or a big grasshopper is the sign for GRASSHOPPER followed by the sign for SMALL or BIG made with the two hands in the shape of 1 or of closed Ċ. The distance between the hands indicates the size of the grasshopper.
The sign for MANY is used after the sign for GRASSHOPPER to indicate plurality. A classifier is sometimes used: one or both X shaped hands are placed at various points in the signing space as though several grasshoppers were being placed there.
When the noun GRASSHOPPER is the subject of a verb of movement, the X shaped hand is used as a classifier and the hand moves accordingly.
