There is one version of this sign. Use the butttons below to view the photographs, signwriting and video.
Dan is-sinjal huwa magħmul minn żewġ partijiet: (jew i) Fl-ewwel parti, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwi jew ta’ L, jew ta’ U, u tgħatti l-ħalq u l-imnieħer u toħroġ ’il barra u tingħalaq. (jew ii) Fit-tieni parti, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ 1. L-id tinżel ’l isfel sakemm id-driegħ ikun mimdud u l-werrej iserrep ftit. Dan il-moviment jirrapreżenta dak ta’ denb il-ġurdien.
Is-sinjali għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR isiru biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ Ċ u jħarsu lejn xulxin f’linja orizzontali. Id-distanza bejn l-idejn tindika d-daqs tal-ġurdien. Is-sinjal għal GURDIEN jintuża qabel is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jew għal KBIR.
GħaIl-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal GURDIEN. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ tintuża l-id li tieħu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa u titpoġġa f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna ġrieden.
Meta n-nom GURDIEN ikun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ V mgħawġa jew ta’ 1 mimdud. Dawn jintużaw bħala classifiers u l-id timxi skond l-azzjoni.
This sign is made up of two parts: (jew i) In the first part, the hand is in the shape of a bent 5 or an L, or U, and covers the nose and mouth and moves out and closes. (jew ii) In the second part, the hand in the shape of 1 moves down until the lower arm lies in horizontal position. The index finger makes a winding movement, representing that of the mouse’s tail.
The signs for SMALL and BIG are made with both hands in the shape of C facing each other horizontally. The distance between the two hands indicates the relative size of the mouse. The sign for MOUSE is used before the sign for SMALL or BIG.
The sign for MANY is used after the sign for MOUSE to express the plural. A classifier is often used. In this case one or both hands in the shape of curved V are placed at various points in the signing space as though several mice were actually being put into that space.
When the noun MOUSE is the subject of a verb of movement, the hand in the shape of curved V or horizontal 1 is used as a classifier. The hand moves according to the action.
