Is-sinjal għal ĦAMIEMA għandu żewġ partijiet. (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal ta’ GĦASFUR, jiġifieri, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ L bil-pala ta’ l-id tħares ’il barra waqt li tgħatti l-ħalq. L-id tistrieħ mal-geddum. Is-saba’ l-kbir u l-werrej jingħalqu u jinfetħu ħafif ħafif darbtejn jew iktar. (jew ii) Imbagħad iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 dritta bil-pala tħares ’il barra. L-idejn jitqiegħdu fil-ġnub livell ma’ l-ispalel u jperpru xi tlett darbiet ’l quddiem mill-polz fl-istess post.

Għal ħamiema żgħira jew kbira, l-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal ĦAMIEMA imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR jew is-sinjal għal KBIR. Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR u għal KBIR isir mill-idejn forma ta’ 5 li jħarsu lejn xulxin f’linja vertikali. Id-distanza ta’ bejn l-idejn tindika d-daqs tal-ħamiema.

Għall-plural is-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jiġi wara s-sinjal għal ĦAMIEMA. Ġieli ukoll tintuża classifier. F’dan il-każ tintuża l-id fil-forma ta’ 8 mgħawweġ jew X mgħawġa u titpoġġa f’ħafna punti fiż-żona tas-sinjali qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna ħamiem.

Meta n-nom ĦAMIEMA jkun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment, l-id fil-forma ta’ 8 mgħawweġ jew ta’ X mgħawġa tintuża bħala classifier u timxi skond l-azzjoni.

There are two different signs for PIGEON. The first sign has two parts. (jew i) First, the sign for BIRD is made, that is, the hand takes the L shape, the palm faces out and leans against the chin. The thumb and the index finger move in a light closing and opening movement twice or more. (jew ii) Then, both hands take the shape of straight 5 with palms facing outwards. The hands are placed at the sides at shoulder level and flutter forward a few times from the wrist at the same place.

The sign for a small or large pigeon is the sign for PIGEON followed by the sign for SMALL or for BIG. The signs for SMALL and for BIG are made with the hands in the shape of 5 and palms facing in a vertical direction. The distance between the hands indicates the size of the pigeon.

The sign for MANY is used after the sign for PIGEON to signal plurality. A classifier is often used. In this case one or both hands in the shape of curved 8 or curved X is placed at various points in the signing space as though several pigeons were actually being put into that space.

When the noun PIGEON is the subject of a verb of movement, one hand in the shape of curved 8 or curved X is used as the classifier, moving according to the action indicated by the verb.
