Is-sinjal għal ĦJATA jsir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ F bis-swaba’ kkurvati. Id waħda tieqaf bil-pala tħares lejn il-ġenb livell tas-sider. L-id l-oħra tibda ftit iktar ’l isfel u timxi lejn l-id il-wieqfa f’linja kkurvata. Iddur ’l fuq u lura darbtejn jew iktar bħallikieku qed tħit xi biċċa drapp miżmuma mill-id il-wieqfa.
The sign for SEWING is made with both hands that take the shape of F with fingers curved. One hand is held stationary with palm facing the side at chest level. The other hand starts a little lower down and moves towards the stationary hand in a curved line. It turns upwards and back again twice or more as though sewing a piece of material held in the stationary hand.
