Is-sinjal għal ŻUNŻANA għandu żewġ partijiet: (jew i) L-ewwel isir is-sinjal għal INSETT ITIR. L-id togħla ’l fuq mir-ras, mal-ġenb, u tieħu l-forma ta’ F miftuħa. L-id iddur waqt li żżomm din il-forma. (jew ii) Fit-tieni parti, id waħda timtedd bil-pala ’l isfel u l-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ 1 u tinżel minn mal-geddum biex s-saba’ jolqot d-driegħ mimdud qisu żunżana qed tagħti x-xewka.
Is-sinjal għal ŻGĦIR isir b’id waħda u bis-saba’ l-kbir qrib tal-werrej, jiġu wara s-sinjal għal ŻUNŻANA u jindika żunżana żgħira. Is-sinjal għal KBIR isir b’id waħda forma ta’ Ċ miftuħa skond id-daqs mixtieq, jiġu wara s-sinjal għal ŻUNŻANA u jindika żunżana kbira.
Għall-plural, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ F miftuħa u titpoġġa f’punti differenti fiż-żona tas-sinjali, ma’ l-għoli ta’ l-għajnejn, qisu hemmhekk qed jitqiegħdu ħafna żnażen. Inkella, s-sinjal għal ĦAFNA jista’ jintuża wara s-sinjal għal ŻUNŻANA.
Meta n-nom ŻUNŻANA jkun is-suġġett ta’ verb ta’ moviment l-id bil-forma ta’ F miftuħa, jew il-forma ta’ X tintuża bħala classifier u timxi skond l-azzjoni tal-verb.
The sign for WASP is made of two parts: (jew i) In the first part the sign for FLYING INSECT is made. The hand takes an open F shape at the side, over head level. It makes a circular movement keeping the F shape. (jew ii) In the second part, one arm lies at waist level, palm down. The other hand forms a 1 shape and moves down from chin height to hit the lying arm like a wasp with its sting.
The sign for SMALL (jew made with one hand, with the thumb close to the index finger) is used after the sign for WASP to refer to a small wasp. The sign for BIG, made with a C shaped hand, opening according to the desired size, is used to refer to a big wasp.
For the plural, the hand in the shape of open F is placed at various places in the signing space at eye level, as though many wasps were being placed there. The sign for MANY may be used after the sign for WASP instead.
When the noun WASP is the subject of a verb of movement, the hand in the shape of open F, or in the shape of X, is used as a classifier and moves according to the action of the verb.
